Potential Listeria Exposure

Hey everyone,

We’ve recently been notified that one of the bags of frozen blueberries used at our most recent Port Katherine event may have been exposed to listeria.

The contamination was found on pineapple products, not blueberries, but these were recalled as part of a potential cross-contamination concern. The recall notice is very, very broad (Voluntary Recall of Specific Frozen Fruit Products Due to Possible Contamination by Listeria monocytogenes | FDA), and but only our blueberries are on the list. They were used by us as a side dish at breakfast, and inside some of the lemon cakes during dessert.

At this time, there have been no reported illness outbreaks associated with this recall. Our assumption is that we’re in the clear - no reported outbreaks, listeria found on pineapples and not on blueberries, etc - but we’re notifying all of you out of an abundance of caution.

Listeria symptoms can be found here:
(Symptoms | Listeria | CDC)

If you find yourself exhibiting any of these symptoms, please take them seriously.

Stay safe, everyone.
