"The Upper Crust"

So, one of the things I’m really excited for in PK is the opportunity to play with anachronistic social roles. I’m curious who else is playing nobility or aristocracy, would love to have a chance to get peoples names right during session 1.

I’m playing Kleis von Silberholtz VII, I’m entering with three other members of my family. We trace our roots back to the founding of the empire, and have largely focused on developing our lands to mining operations.

I’m playing Isaac Everhart, a modest Scholar, Landowner, and Socialite who comes from a once great Arcanum mining dynasty. The scarcity of Arcanum combined with the passing of the Everhart family’s Matriarch resulted in a fall from grace. Isaac hopes to restore the family’s previous glory under a new heading, focusing on his Arcanum research. I’ll be entering with at least one other member of my family, and potentially an old family friend.

Count Edric Zale. The Zale Barony of Drevnia recently acquired the deeds for an iron mine in Port Kathrine, and sent me to see to its operation and development. Anyone who follows Competitive Dueling in Drevnia may have heard of me, and I intend to bring the sport with me to Port Kathrine.

I’m Countess Rukiye Maryam Nai’ma bint Maital v’Yasamin v’Jacinta no Kershawi Teuthida Alizé min bayt Amira. I’m the leader of the Alizé merchant family branch that has come to Port Katherine to establish a new branch of our family here. I largely just go by Rukiye Maryam most of the time and was only recently ennobled by a member of the family in Tojima. A well-studied scholar and up-and-coming merchant, I find myself applying all the knowledge I have of being noble, right or wrong.

I’m really looking forward to my character have a perception of “this is how nobles do the thing” and it is just…not quite.

Nathrach Rían Quigley, socialite and spiritualist from a minor noble family from Yokkaichi in Tojima. May have caused some family embarrassment by unexpectedly being a privateer for a bit. Not in line to inherit and was so before the privateer thing.

Will be at Spring with one younger sibling and have a second there at the Summer event.

Sláine Flann Quigley, youngest child of the Quigley line, from Yokkaichi in Tojima. Not seen at social gatherings or public events very much. Joined older brother Nathrach on his adventure to act as the ship’s surgeon.

How exciting Count Zale. I do hope I get the opportunity to test my own skill against you…purely out of sport of course.

I’m sure none of us would be so uncouth as to dwell on any potential faux pas you might commit as you learn.

I…see…I assume you acted with a proper letter of marque and the consent of the Imperial Navy…?

Of course, to do other wise would be piracy not privateering.

Excellent! Than your courage and service is appreciated. I’m sure you can understand that there is some quality of brigand that might conveniently confuse the two.

Julian Oddfellow-Absalom: bastard son of a minor cadet branch of the considerably powerful Absalom family of Tojima. Known for being eccentric and scandal prone.

Livewell Burkett Lureen, spiritualist.

I am Liane Sybile Verenberg, elderly aunt to the von Silberholtz siblings, here to oversee my nephew’s ventures. I have brought my prized bees, which I imagine made the journey somewhat uncomfortable for the other travelers.

Well, nowadays I’d imagine it’s quite easy to avoid the confusion, as we seem to be currently lacking any wars that would make such documents available.
