Citizens of Port Katherine,
In the jubilant melody of our victories this festival, there is a dark note. War has a cost. Our war on multiple fronts has cost the colony one of her most valiant members. Midshipman Silas Amira chose Kithira, chose Port Katherine, chose to protect our right to write our own destinies instead of allowing a repressive system to write them for us. He chose all of us over his own life. Our navywomen were valiant and braver than I could ever be as they turned the Tiyagan cannons upon Tiyagan ships, allowing Queen Katherine’s forces to take back the sea and our port. Silas has paid the ultimate price.
In deference to his sacrifice and his dedication to its construction and maintenance, the Town Council of Port Katherine officially declares our Shore Battery to be named the Silas Amira Shore Battery. No citizen was more determined to prepare our island for the battle to retake Port Katherine. He was key to building the shore battery and keeping it safe from Tiyagan eyes. It was our honor to work and fight alongside him. May his soul ride softly on the winds until it can return to us.
For Queen Katherine! For Kithira! For Port Katherine, heart of the Nation!
For Midshipman Silas Amira!
