Good evening,
As you are, I’m quite sure, aware, the Queen is visiting and we are encouraged to wear the colors of Kithera! I’ve been lucky enough to get a stock of appropriately colored ribbon and assorted buttons, including some with the feel of our coinage in from the most recent boat and will be selling cockades here and at the next festival!
Cockades may be claimed below or commissioned (either one that has already been claimed or assembled to your specifications. Commissions will close two days before the festival to ensure they can be completed (Wednesday evening, September 25). If you have any questions or ideas, feel free to reach out. Any cockades not claimed or that I make in addition between now and the festival will be sold at the festival. (Please note that at the festival I will only accept ducats).
I shall naturally keep note of who obtains a cockade from me and mention to a friend or cousin to keep an eye out for you sporting it.
Please let me know if you have any questions in the rather long post below.
Best,
Rukiye Maryam
How to Claim or Commission a Cockade
Claim
- Reply Below with the Letter of the cockade you want and let me know if you intend to pay in a strange foreign currency or ducats. (Even if handoff ends up happening during game, the first is fine and we’ll settle up after.)
Commission
- Unless otherwise indicated, I will assume you want Kitheran Colors to be Fashionable and will add something to your cockade to ensure it is not ALL BLUE for example.
- Reply Below with the letter of the cockade you want yours modeled after and any changes you may or may not desire
- If you are choosing your cockade out of the many options below, let me know: # of layers, Ribbon(s), approx size you want/loop length, button and what “side” you want forward (this is explained below.
- Let me know how you plan to pay.
Pricing:
- Single Layer Cockade: 5d or $20
- Double Layer Cockade: 8d or $30
- Single Layer Cockade with tails: 5.5d or $21
- Double Layer Cockade with tails: 8.5d or $31
- Something Interesting I haven’t thought of: TBD
(OOC note: I know that these are in-game expensive, which is why I’m trying to offer y’all OOG options for before game on. Unfortunately they are a decent amount of work, taking me about 1 hour for a single layer cockade and sometimes more depending on the complexity/ribbon type, as well as having buttons that were work to source. The ribbons is significantly higher quality than the felt for the pitball cockades.)

Ribbon options
Note that A is satin, F is woven and the rest are grosgrain. The satin is “prettiest” but also the most prone to looking worn.
Button options
The two sides of a cockade!
So, you may have noticed the cockades have two “styles”! It’s actually made the same way, it just depends which side you choose for up! I’m calling the left example"flower" style and the right example “two parts” style. The “flower” style appears to be more common in historical examples, if that matters to you!
Thinking About Stripes
The two ribbons I have that are half cream and half colored (e and i) look really different depending on how they are sewn together. See below for an example. Unless told otherwise, I’ll assume you want the method that will show more color, but please feel free to let me know what you want or ask me what you think will be best for your idea!
In Conclusion
Now that I’ve filled the whole bulletin board, congratulations for reading all the way down here. I hope you’ll consider obtaining a cockade, but regardless Wear Kitheran Colors! The Queen is coming and we want her to feel welcome!
