Hello everyone, it’s been awhile since my previous Gross Plot PSA so i’m back to touch base and answer any questions folks might have.
I’ve said it previously but I want to make the following known/clear again:
Anyone is welcome to participate in Gross Plot who wants to, be that as an observer or as an active participant. In fact I encourage it, the more the merrier! The only constraint being the space in whatever area the mod is taking place in. If you’re not a surgeon you are still welcome to assist in a multitude of ways. Maybe a patient needs to be comforted while they have something done, another needs to be held down (with physical RP consent established), or your friend needs you to hold something for them while they operate, and so forth. I’ve had some people there simply to observe, or to lend moral support to other players performing surgeries, or spiritualists offering prayers to those who might be suffering. There’s tons of ways to be involved so don’t feel shy about approaching myself or any other staff member who might be doing Gross Plot, we love to have you!
Additionally, absolutely no one should feel bad if they also need to leave the scene for ANY reason. The scenes I write and design are meant to be emotionally rough, very messy and downright gross (hence gross plot). I, nor anyone else, should or will fault anyone for knowing their limits. If you need to leave please do so, and if possible let someone know that you are leaving so someone else can take over, but again, please do what you need to and if that’s to leave ASAP then that is 100% ok.
Some scenes may be “time sensitive”, but myself, any other staff member who may be running the scene/involved, or another PC can tag into a surgery as needed.
In general if you see me dressed as a doctor (typically Dr. Leanne Longfellow sporting a green vest) a Gross Mod is possibly going to take place, but in general regardless of who I am playing at that time or if any other staff member is running a Gross Mod we will do our level best to telegraph this and give trigger/content warning before the mod begins in full.
Those interested in Gross Plot are also reminded that these mods are MESSY, use lots of fake blood as well as a lot of other goo. Please bear that in mind when entering a Gross Mod. These mods also contain real surgical equipment such as scalpels, bone saws, needles, and various other medical tools. When handling these things please use caution (there has not been any issues so far, let’s keep it that way 
). I do have a fair number of aprons for people to borrow to help you protect your costuming, please use them! I will also try to provide latex free gloves, yes they are anachronistic but fake blood can stain your skin and I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t participate because of this.
