You know what to do.
“I never question anything!”
You know what to do.
“I never question anything!”
My first favorite moment also comes with a quote.
Context: As the carnival was winding down, Isadora thanked August for his company that evening, and invited him to her birthday breakfast the next morning. She told him she hadn’t written him an invitation because they hadn’t known each other especially well before this festival. He asked what she would like for a gift, and after some back and forth argument…
Isadora: “The invitations explicitly said no gifts are expected.”
August: “Ah, but I didn’t receive an invitation!”
…she couldn’t really argue with that one.
Honestly that entire evening was lovely. August was Isadora’s personal hero in game, and Rafael was my personal hero out of game, for the reason of him fetching me chairs for my poor back.
The sheer number of people Isadora got to gossip with about her answers from the fortune teller, and the (spiritualist?) seance leader’s eerily related commentary.
I try to avoid gossip in real life out of respect for people’s privacy. My little secret is I actually love gossip. Isadora is such a gossip and it is so much fun, thank you everyone who indulged her, most especially Rukiye and Matthias Alizé.
(In the tavern at 11 pm, Veran having just informed us of Blackheart’s attack)
Amity: Captain Ferris. What’s the plan?
Lily: We should. Um. We need fight them? Organize a… fight?
Amity: Captain, may I make a suggestion?
Lily: Please.
Amity: Let me handle this.
Lily: PLEASE.
(This was followed up the next day with what essentially amounted an intervention from Amity, James Corvid, Lilywhite, and Czeslawa for Lily’s “17 hours of active military duty & bodyguarding” lifestyle)
So many new Elixirs to try~
Complimentary secret appendectomy.
Having a nice little bit of girl talk with Prosperity
Ensuring some private time in the mirror house, doing drugs, and making out. My Boyfriend is a terrible influence.
The AMAZING portraits at the Carnival
Making new friends! (Hi Sebastian!)
Having Brian’s Traitorous phone save us from ambush. Sorry you didn’t get much of a nap!
Everyone scraping their plates and picking up their cups.
Boxing might be my new favorite Kithiran sport…
Thank you so much for being a good sport about the play! You were great!
It was so much fun. I was in as soon as I realized there would be improv, but it exceeded my wildest expectations.
Fish boiiiii!
Also, when Andrean’s character broke and A. seemed really high and B. just kept talking in the same “fish boi” intonation
“Is that… ZED?”
“That’s ZED!”
Oh! And the Face Stealer!
That was great! Nerve wracking and horrifying, but great!
Prosperity: “Who would want to live in a fantasy world? That’s just ridiculous.” walks out
I broke character so hard. Only time in the game someone made me laugh hard enough to break character.
I think the final fight on Saturday night was great, because we were so heavily outmatched and in trouble that it was probably the first time that Tashif felt true terror since arriving on the island.
That first really major(?) loss is gonna change some stuff I think.
Lilywhite: “I haven’t heard Ravil’s voice in nearly 10 minutes. I’m pretty sure they’re dead.”
Basically everyone’s reactions to Ravil getting their voice stolen; special shout-outs to Kleis, Adrian as Fionne, Rukiye, and my fellow sufferers in silence.
I’m so sad I missed the Saturday night fight, I hope someone will give a full recap! (Elsewhere though)
More favorite moments:
Annaliese being flustered by Lilywhite’s performance
Showing Avy and Stev where the library was… or trying to and then fleeing from a large number of scarecrow creatures
Avy and Matthias’ nervous looks when Isadora explained the lesson for Power Cycling.
“It’s nothing to worry about, the Artificers are just blowing themselves up.”
I honestly have no memory of what happened Friday night after my game on mod, but I know I had a lot of fun, so there have to be some favorite moments in there somewhere!
“Root”
“Parry”
“Uh, that was a packet, I don’t think you can parry those. Aren’t you a skirmisher, can’t you take that as a strike?”
“HOLY SHIT I’VE NEVER HAD A REASON TO DO THAT BEFORE! REDUCE!”
Heavily paraphrased:
“Anyone want to buy some Hallucinogen?”
“YES” (multiple people)
“… I wasn’t expecting this much demand.”
A similar thing happened to me that morning, when someone pointed at a bunch of us and said “fireball”, everyone dropped while I blankly said in confusion, “uhh…reduce?”.
It’s a great skill that very rarely gets used, but you feel awesome when it does.
My brain appears to be dispensing these in chunks every few hours, so here’s some more!
