Some of you may have seen the short story printed in the local insert about captain Farley and the Alchemy engine, and that it ended with a choice. Each drink at the bar was supposed to be an opportunity to cast a vote on which way the story may go, but other than the announcements on the back of the menus, I forgot to let people know.
SO uh, since I need to let the writer know which choice to print in the upcoming paper, what is your vote?

The Lucky Hen, listing slightly to port, was sailing slow and heavy; her holds full to bursting. She was a noble ship trading in luxuries; probably en route to Yokkaichi with a cargo of wine, textiles, and fruit preserved in honey. Yours for the taking, if you can catch her.
Your name is Farley and you stand on the deck of your faster, corvette class “Kranken’s Kiss”
watching the merchant ship sail the horizon as a cut-throat crew of pirates and rogues await

You lower the spyglass and look out across the aether, stretching endlessly in all directions
except for a single uncharted island off the port side. A jagged crown of gray rocks jutting
from the aether and looking almost as bare as your larder. Do you…
Give the order to chase the Hen down?
Or Let her go?
