Another Two-Handed Weapon Question

I heard two different rulings from two different people who I trust to know the rules, so I want to check if there’s a definitive answer.
Two-handed weapons can be carried in one free hand
Two-handed weapons require two free hands to wield
Do two-handed weapons require that both free hands be on the weapon while it is being wielded?

quoting from the rulebook: " You can wield any safe, legal boffer weapon between 42 inches and 72 inches long. You need 2 free hands, but you don’t have to grip with both."

Typically anyone swinging a two-hander in WW will have both hands on it because of how accessible Iron Grip is…it’s less prevalent in PK.
