[Pinned to the board in Annaliese’s best handwriting]
Now that the town has begun to accrue a collection of our work works, I am pleased to announce that I will be instituting a service to make library books more easily accessible.
On the first day of every festival, I will put the library cart (which will be labeled as such) in the tavern, along with a list of available works. There will be a sign-up sheet, as well. If you would like to read one of the works, please put your name and the requested work on the sheet. I will fetch them from the library to the tavern and leave them in the cart to be picked up. This service is free of charge for the general use case, though there may be fees associated with specific aspects, which will be noted below.
Times:
Sign up sheet pick-up and book drop-off will be at approximately 1 in the afternoon on the second day of the festival.
Book return pick-up will be at approximately 6 in the evening on the second day of the festival.
Since this creates a certain degree of liability for both the books and myself, I am instituting the following rules and guidelines.
-
Due to the chaotic nature of festival days, I cannot promise this service will always be on time, either for book drop off or pick up, but I can promise it will never be earlier than the scheduled times.
-
This service will have a blacklist. While you are on the blacklist, you may not make use of this service.
-
Individual books may have fees associated with them. If so, it will be noted on the book’s listing.
-
Late Fees:
Book returned after return time, but before the end of the second day of the festival in which it was borrowed- 2 pence
Book returned on the third day of the festival in which it was borrowed- 5 pence
Book returned before 1 in the afternoon on the second day of the festival in which it was borrowed- 1 ducat
Book returned between 1 and 6 on the second day of the festival after the one in which it was borrowed: 1.5 ducats
Book returned after 6 on the second day of the festival after the one in which it was borrowed: 2 ducats
Book returned in a festival past the one after it was returned: 1 additional ducat per festival up to but not exceeding the value the library paid for the book.
If you have outstanding fines, you will be blacklisted from this service until your fines are paid.
Note: You are responsible for the return of a book you sign up for. You are welcome to pass it around to others, but if it fails to be returned on time, the fee will be the responsibility of the person who signed up for the book.
